Defending One’s Honors
I’m really proud of myself tonight. I went to a local bar to go and dance with my friends and have fun. There was a gay couple there who were dancing together and having a good time. Next to them was a big stereotypical homophobic guy pointing, laughing, and CLEARLY making fun of them. I walked right up to him and said, “excuse me is there a problem here? I don’t see anything funny here, all I see…
is two people who care about eachother having fun and dancing together, why is that such a big deal to you? this is the 21st century, grow up and accept it. you dont have to be gay, but they dont have to be straight. rather then hating everyone who is different then you, learn something from them. get to now how they think and act and accept it… you wouldnt like people finding something about you and make fun of you to your face about it. I know for a fact that you wouldnt appreciate me coming up to you and making a ton of fat jokes. so seriously man please have a little respect.. if you dont like it then move away, this is a BIG dance floor..” to my surprise after that (i honest was half expecting him to start a fight…) he actually went up to the couple and apologized! i felt so good about myself for sticking up for those two guys.
